As important and vital is the implementation and use of Six Sigma for the survival of any business organization, the certification process for a person to be Six Sigma is described as rather dark.
Basically, there is no official list or specific amounts of training and knowledge that one must have to obtain different levels of technical and organizational experience.
However, there are three levels of certification for Six Sigma leaders specifically: Green belt, Black Belt and Master Black Belt.
Green Belts
Green Belts are team leaders who are capable of powers organize and instruct the six teams Sigma and easy to manage projects from conception and beyond. Green Belt training is generally composed of a week of classroom training, which often take place in parallel with an existing enterprise Six Sigma projects.
Training usually involves different facilitation techniques, projects and quality management tools, quality control, troubleshooting and analysis.
Black Belts
People who make excellent Black Belts are individuals of high technology with advanced capabilities for statistics and mathematics, and are often models for colleagues. They already should be involved in reviewing its strategic business organization including business development processes. Black belt candidates tend have varied backgrounds and are usually not formally trained in statistics.
But because Black Belts need to learn a large number of technical tools in a very short period, candidates must be comfortable with advanced math concepts and a working knowledge of quantitative analysis.
Work to extract useful information from the information system of a company. Black Belt successful candidate should be well with computer systems several, spreadsheets, database tools and presentation software like Microsoft PowerPoint.
As a component of the formation of his belt Black, all perspectives should be required to be experts in statistical analysis using various software such as SPSS.
Master Black Belt
The Master Black Belt is the highest level of Six Sigma technical expertise. Because only Master Black Belt can and are obliged to facilitate the training of Black Belt, they have to know all the black belts do. Furthermore, it is necessary to understand how the theory of mathematics is related statistical methods.
Six Sigma Master Black Belt should be able to help their lower level counterparts (Black and Green Belts), applying the methods appropriate throughout the project process.
Overall, training in statistical methods should be done solely by the Master Belt Black. Because the basis of the work of Master Black Belt, communication skills, as well as the ability to teach should be considered as important as technical skills in evaluating candidates.
